 Nepal Trilogy launched
 |  |             |  | KATHMANDU, Dec 4:  Dec. 4: Nepal Trilogy, a book that amalgamates poetry and photography  about some of the world-famous trekking destinations in the Nepal  Himalayas, has been launched Sunday.
 
 The 800-pages anthology is a photographic and poetic journey through the  areas of Annapurna, the Everest, Helambu and Langtang. The poems in the  book have been written by noted poet and translator Yuyutsu RD Sharma  and the photographs are by award-winning German photographer, Andreas  Stimm.
 
 German Ambassador to Nepal, Verena Grafin von Roedern inaugurated the  pictorial poetry book amidst a function at Nepal Tourism Board.
 
 In her inaugural remarks, the German ambassador said the book catches  the spirit of the people and the culture of some of the world-famous  trekking destinations in the Nepal Himalayas through the medium of  poetry and photography.
 
 So, the Nepal Trilogy will help promote Nepal, its culture and natural  beauty to the outside world through a perfect combination of literature  and photography, she added. She also suggested the Nepalis to visit  different places in their own country and help promote tourism.
 
 Ambassador Roedern, moreover, underlined the need of political stability for the promotion of tourism in the country.
 
 The author of the book, Yuyutsu RD Sharma and photographer Stimm spoke  on how the Nepal Trilogy came about and how a poet and a photographer  decided to work together combining two forms of art. They also shared  their experience of working together in this venture.
 
 Poet Sharma read out two poems from the Trilogy. The German translations  of these poems were also read out. Noted litterateurs,  literature-lovers and media people, among others, attended the function.
 
 The book-launching programme was organized by White Lotus Book Shop in  collaboration with Nepal Tourism Board and Epsilonmedia, Germany.
